GE wins turbine order for 1 GW CCGT project in Michigan (US)

Kiewit Power Constructors, the engineering, construction and procurement (EPC) contractor on the 1,000 MW Indeck Niles Energy Center project in Michigan (United States), has selected GE to supply two 7HA.02 gas turbines, a GE steam turbine and generator, and two heat recovery generators (HRSG) for the CCGT power project. The Indeck Niles power project is developed by Indeck Energy Services, which owns a 20% stake in the power plant, in partnership with Korea Southern Power (KOSPO, 50%) and Daelim Energy (30%). Commissioning is expected in 2022.

KOSPO is part of Korea Electric Power Corp. (Kepco) and one of the largest power generation companies in South Korea with more than 11 GW of coal-fired, LNG-fired and renewable power capacity. The group is also active abroad (979 MW): the group owns stakes in a 371 MW CCGT power plant in Chile, along with a 373 MW CCGT plant and wind and solar PV plants in Jordan.
