Singapore's power generation group YTL PowerSeraya has ordered GE Vernova a H-class 9HA.01 gas turbine for its Pulau Seraya CCGT power plant, which is expected to deliver up to 600 MW to Singapore's national grid by 2027. GE Vernova, SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction Co and POWERCHINA are part of the consortium for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract. The power plant will be initially fuelled by natural gas but is hydrogen-compatible, since GE Vernova's 9HA.01 gas turbine is capable of burning up to 50% hydrogen blend, with a pathway to 100% in the future. The contract also includes an STF-A650 steam turbine, a W88 generator, and a triple pressure with reheat Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG).
This project aligns with Singapore's net-zero economy commitment by 2050, aiming to enhance energy resilience and lower carbon emissions.
