Worldwide Holding Berhad (WHB), a state-owned company of the Selangor state in Malaysia, has commissioned the new 1,200 MW Pulau Indah CCGT power plant in Selangor. The power plant consists of two 600 MW blocks of GE Vernova HA combined cycle equipment, each including a 9HA.01 gas turbine, an STF-D650 steam turbine, a W88 generator and a Once Through Heat Recovery Steam Generator (OT HRSG); the HA unit has the capability to burn up to 50% by volume of hydrogen when blended with natural gas. In addition, GE Vernova has signed a 21-year agreement to provide maintenance services and software solutions to improve asset visibility, reliability, and availability of the power plant.
In March 2021, GE had secured an order from the EPC consortium of Posco Engineering & Construction (POSCO), Mitsubishi Corporation and PEC Powercon to provide power generation equipment for the project, which was being developed by the special purpose company Pulau Indah Power Plant (PIPP) (75% Worldwide Holdings Berhad and 25% KEPCO).
