Gazprom raises Yuzhno-Kirinskoye gas reserves (Russia) by 13%

Gazprom has announced a 13% increase in the gas reserves (C1+C2) at its Yuzhno-Kirinskoye field in the Sea of Okhotsk, near Sakhalin in the Russian far-east. The field is now estimated to hold 636.6 bcm of gas (from 564 bcm), with recoverable reserves of gas condensate growing from 71.6 to 97.3 Mt and recoverable reserves of oil reaching 6 Mt. The field is planned to be commissioned in 2018.

Gazprom holds the world's largest natural gas reserves, 35,700 bcm. In 2013 the gas reserves replenishment level totalled 646.9 bcm, as a result of geological exploration carried out by the Company in Russia. The gas replenishment to extraction ratio amounted to 133%. For the ninth consecutive year the rates of Gazprom's reserves growth exceeded natural gas extraction rates.
