Gazprom discovers 2 new gas fields (500 bcm) near Yamal (Russia)

Russian gas giant Gazprom has discovered two new hydrocarbon fields on the Yamal Peninsula shelf (Russia), exceeding 500 bcm of gas reserves. The Dinkov field is located within the Rusanovsky block in the Kara Sea and is estimated to hold recoverable reserves (C1+C2) of nearly 391 bcm of gas, while the Nyarmeyskoye gas field is located in the Nyarmeysky block in the Kara Sea and holds around 121 bcm of gas reserves.

Gazprom is working on the Yamal gas production center, which is expected to become the main production site for Russian gas industry. The group is starting to develop the Kharasaveyskoye field, which would hold 2,000 bcm of gas reserves and could produce 32 bcm/year of gas as of 2023. Gas production would be transported to the Unified Gas Supply System through the Bovanenkovo – Ukhta and Bovanenkovo – Ukhta 2 gas pipelines (115 bcm/year).
