Gaz-System issued recommendations for the Świnoujście LNG extension (Poland)

The Polish gas transmission system operator Gaz-System has issued recommendations to Polskie LNG regarding the startup of the design and preparatory works for the extension of the LNG Lech Kaczynski terminal expansion in Świnoujście. The company took the decision based on the results of a feasibility study, which was released in August 2017. Gaz-System expects to commission the second jetty of the terminal by 2021.

Gaz-System has taken FID in April 2017. The existing facilities were commissioned in 2016 and consist of 2.5 bcm/year regasification trains, two 160,000 m3 storage tanks and can receive LNG carriers of up to 217,000 m3. The extension project includes the construction of an additional loading/unloading berth for vessels and a loading berth for LNG bunker vessels. Once the upgrade completed, the terminal's regasification capacity will increase from the current 5 bcm/y up to 7.5 bcm/y.
