GAZ-SYSTEM completes LNG terminal expansion in Poland to 8.3 bcm/year

The Polish gas transmission system operator GAZ-SYSTEM has announced the completion of the expansion project of the LNG terminal in Świnoujście. The comprehensive expansion consisted of increasing the number of SCV regasifiers, the construction of a second quay and a third tank for the process storage of LNG, increasing the regasification capacity of the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście to 8.3 bcm/year (up from 5 bcm/year in 2015 and 6.2 bcm/year as of 2022). The PLN461m (€109m) expansion was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment 2014-2020. 

The Polish Terminal expansion was included in the European list of Projects of Common Interest, which includes investments of particular importance for increasing the security and diversification of natural gas supplies in Europe, as well as those investments that also contribute to the achievement of the EU's energy and climate goals.
