French energy regulator approves RTE's 2015 investments in power grid

The French energy regulator CRE has approved electricity transmission network operator RTE's 2015 investment plans. The company will invest €1,497m in 2015, i.e. +6% compared to 2014 (€1,413m). The group will mainly invest in regional networks, with €534m earmarked for their development (-3.5% compared to 2014) and €350m for their upgrade or renewal. Where large transmission projects and interconnections projects are concerned, RTE plans to invest €355m in their development and €52m in renewal. The increase in development investments (+€73m compared to 2014) is linked to the Savoie-Piémont (France-Italy interconnection project, currently under construction and expected to be commissioned in 2019), to the Lonny-Seuil-Vesle domestic transmission line and to the Baixas-Santa LLogaia interconnection line with Spain. The remaining €206m will be invested in information systems and logistics.
