The French energy group Engie has released its 2024 results, posting a net income of €5.5bn, a 3.1% increase compared to 2023. The group commissioned a record 4.2 GW of renewable capacities in 2024 (against 3.9 GW in 2023), including 1.9 GW in Latin America, 0.9 GW in Europe, 0.9 GW in the US and 0.5 GW in the rest of the world. Engie’s total renewable installed capacity reached 46.1 GW at end-2024 (at 100%), including 17.8 GW of hydropower, 15.9 GW of onshore wind, 9.2 GW of solar and 1.9 GW of offshore wind. The share of renewables in Engie’s total power generation capacity increased from 41% at the end of 2023 to 43% at the end of 2024. The rest of the group’s capacity is mostly made up of gas (45.6 GW), nuclear (4.3 GW), and coal (2.1 GW). This amounts to a total capacity of 106.65 GW for Engie at end-2024. The group generated 392 TWh (at 100%), including 206 TWh from gas and around 140 TWh from renewables.

In France, Engie's subsidiaries transported 588 TWh (-6%) and distributed 225 TWh of gas (-1%) in 2024. Overseas, the group transported 181 TWh (-2.4%) and distributed 121 TWh (-2.4%).
