The FPSO Atlanta arrives in Brazil to start oil production in the Santos Basin

The Brazilian energy firm Enauta has announced the arrival of the floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO)  vessel Atlanta at the Atlanta field in Brazil’s Santos Basin. Owned and operated by the Malaysian group Yinson Production, the FPSO has the capacity to process 50 kb/d and store 1.6 mbbl of oil.

The vessel has started its anchoring operation and its first oil from the Atlanta field is expected for August 2024. The field has six wells online and is scheduled to reach ten wells by 2029. The FPSO’s assignment on the Brazilian field is set for 15 years, with a five-year optional period. The Atlanta field in block BS-4 of the Santos Basin, is operated by Enauta Energia, which has a 100% interest in the asset.

In 2023, Brazil produced nearly 178 Mt of crude oil and NGL. Its proved oil reserves stood at 1,813 Mt (at the end of 2022), a significant part of which is located in the Santos Basin.
