US power utility Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) has started to build 10 new solar power plants rated 74.5 MW each in ten counties of Florida (United States): FPL Babcock Preserve in Charlotte County, FPL Blue Heron in Hendry County, FPL Cattle Ranch in DeSoto County, FPL Echo River in Suwannee County, FPL Hibiscus in Palm Beach County, FPL Northern Preserve in Baker County, FPL Okeechobee in Okeechobee County, FPL Southfork in Manatee County, FPL Sweetbay in Martin County, and FPL Twin Lakes in Putnam County. The projects are expected to add a combined capacity of 745 MW in early 2020, raising the company's solar capacity from 1,250 MW across 18 solar power plants to nearly 2,000 MW.
