Fidra Energy acquires 1 GW Enderby BESS project (UK) from Innova

The UK BESS developer Fidra Energy has announced the acquisition of the 1,025 MW Enderby BESS project, located in Leicestershire (United Kingdom) from renewable and data centre project developer Innova, for an undisclosed amount (Fidra Energy press release, 03/06/2026).

The project secured planning consent in May 2025, and was later confirmed as eligible for the first long-duration energy storage cap and floor scheme application. Fidra Energy plans to submit an application to the UK regulator in summer 2026, and to make a final investment decision (FID) on the project in 2027. Pending FID, commercial operations could start in 2029.

With this acquisition, Fidra Energy's total UK BESS pipeline now exceeds 4 GW. The company is already building a 1.4 GW/3.1 GWh BESS at Thorpe Marsh, Yorkshire, and will made a FID on a 500 MW/1.1 GWh project at West Burton, Nottinghamshire in June 2026. Both projects are due to be commissioned by 2028.
