US-based natural gas producer Expand Energy has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Twin Eagle from Five Point Infrastructure in a transaction valued at USD1.25bn (Expand Energy press release, 29/07/2027).
Currently, Twin Eagle markets more than 52 bcm/year of natural gas and manages around 1.25 bcm of storage capacity and 21 bcm/year of transportation capacity.
Once the acquisition is completed, the combined company is expected to achieve marketed natural gas volumes of approximately 145 bcm/year, supported by around 93 bcm/year of firm transportation capacity and 1.4 bcm of storage capacity.
Founded in 2010, Twin Eagle operates across wholesale marketing, asset management, logistics, structuring and analytics, serving more than 1,000 customers across the US and Canada.
The companies stated that the combined entity is expected to reach around 90% of the US and Canadian natural gas market through access to key demand centres.
The transaction remains subject to customary purchase price adjustments and is expected to close in Q3 2026, pending standard closing conditions and regulatory approvals. Upon completion, Twin Eagle will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Expand Energy.
