EVN completes acquisition of public shares in Bulgarian companies

EVN has completed the acquisition of EVN Bulgaria, the electricity distribution and supply company of South-East Bulgaria. The company purchased a 67% stake from the State in 2004 and benefited from the privatization of the remaining public stake in EVN (33%) on 21 December 2011. During the day, a total of 112,795 shares in the two companies EVN Bulgaria Elektrosnabdiavane (electricity supply) and EVN Bulgaria Elektrorazpredelenie (electricity distribution) were sold (99% of the total). Moreover, the average prices were BGN157/share (€78/share) for EVN Bulgaria Elektrosnabdiavane (minimum price set at BGN120/share or €60/share) and BGN1,632/share (€816.3/share) for EVN Bulgaria Elektrorazpredelenie, raising BGN94m (€47m) instead of the BGN78m (€39m) expected. EVN acquired a further 30.75% stake in EVN Bulgaria Elektrorazpredelenie, raising its stake to 97.75%, and a 32.73% stake in EVN Bulgaria Elektrosnabdiavane, reaching 99.73% in the company. The total price averaged BGN90m (€45m).
