Eversource could sell its stake in US offshore wind JV with Ørsted

The US energy utility Eversource Energy has initiated a strategic review of its offshore wind investment portfolio. Consequently, the company could potentially sell all or part of its 50% interest in its offshore wind joint-venture with Ørsted in the United States, which owns three contracted projects with a total capacity of approximately 1,758 MW, as well as up to 175,000 acres (71,000 hectares) of offshore wind area off the Massachusetts South Coast not yet allocated to a specific project. The existing projects comprise the 130 MW South Fork Wind project off Montauk (New York), due to be commissioned in 2023, the 924 MW Sunrise Wind project off Montauk expected in late 2025, and the 704 MW Revolution Wind project off Rhode Island (400 MW) and Connecticut (304 MW) expected in 2025.
