Norwegian energy company Equinor has signed a five-year natural gas supply agreement with Dutch utility Eneco covering gas deliveries to the Netherlands between 2026 and 2031 (Equinor press release, 13/10/2026). The agreement covers deliveries for around 9 TWh/year of natural gas, or approximately 900 mcm/year, to the Dutch gas grid with deliveries starting on 1 October 2026.
Equinor will provide gas from the Norwegian continental shelf, of which the company has agreed to provide verified emissions data associated with the supplied gas volumes, allowing Eneco to incorporate upstream emissions information into its reporting and procurement processes. The companies stated that the arrangement is intended to increase transparency regarding emissions associated with natural gas supply chains.
The agreement strengthens Equinor's position in the European gas market and supports Eneco's gas supply portfolio for customers in the Netherlands and Belgium. Further commercial terms, including contract volumes and pricing arrangements, were not disclosed.
