Equinor awards subsea contracts for projects up to 220 mboe (Norway)

Equinor has awarded contracts for four subsea development projects on the Norwegian continental shelf with a combined capacity that ranges between 130 and 220 mboe (Equinor press release, 07/07/2026). 

The NOK6bn (EUR5.4bn) contracts cover the TWIN (tied back to Troll A), Omega Sør (planned to be tied back to Snorre A), Tyrihans Nord (planned to be produced via the Kristin platform) and Brime (planned to be tied back to Gullfaks Cprojects. Only the TWIN development has been sanctioned so far, while the others remain in early development stages and require further approvals.

The move represents the first phase of a wider subsea development programme, in which the company targets around 75 subsea developments by 2035.

Equinor, which is 67% state-owned, operates around 70% of Norway’s oil output, with production of 628 kb/d of oil and NGLs domestically and 454 kb/d internationally in 2025 (Enerdata’s Global Energy Research).
