EPH subsidiary acquires two gas-fired power plants (1.3 GW) in the Netherlands

EP Netherlands, a subsidiary of the Czech energy company EPH, has concluded an agreement with the US group Castleton Commodities International (CCI) to acquire two gas-fired power plants in the Netherlands totalling over 1.3 GW in capacity.

EP Netherlands has acquired full ownership of the 426 MW MaasStroom gas-fired power plant located in Rotterdam. Additionally, EP NL has acquired a 50% stake in Enecogen, a 910 MW gas-fired power plant also situated in Rotterdam. The remaining 50% stake in Enecogen will continue to be held by the Dutch energy company Eneco.

Earlier in 2023, EP Netherlands expanded its presence in the Dutch energy market by acquiring the 870 MW Sloe power plant and the 810 MW Rijnmond power plant. The EPH subsidiary now has a cumulative capacity of 2.6 GW in the Netherlands.
