EP Produzione, a subsidiary of the Czech energy group Energetický a průmyslový holding (EPH), has started commercial operations of an 800 MW combined cycle-unit on its Tavazzano and Montanaso power plant in Italy. The €400m unit features advanced H-class gas turbine technology with an efficiency exceeding 62%, with the capacity to significantly reduce its CO₂ and NOx emissions. The project has a hydrogen-ready design as part of its commitment to innovation and sustainability. The unit brings the total capacity of the Tavazzano and Montanaso power plant to 1,970 MW, enough to supply power to approximately 1.5 million households.
EPH is also developing an additional H-class CCGT power plant Ostiglia, set for commissioning in the first half of 2026, and 270 MW of BESS capacity, while also exploring other transformative projects in Italy. These initiatives align with the Group’s overarching mission of delivering sustainable, efficient, and reliable energy solutions.
