E.ON UK raises average dual fuel price increase of 3.7% in 2014

E.ON announced tariff increases for existing standard variable customers from 18th January 2014. The tariff increase will be 3.7% for dual fuel customers (+ £48/year for an annual 3,330 kWh consumption of electricity and 16,500 kWh of gas), 3.7% for electricity-only offers (+£20) and 4.6% for gas-only offers (+ £37). This increase is much more moderate than tariff increases announced and applied this winter by other energy suppliers (+8% on average).

E.ON is also changing its products to make them simpler, easier to compare and compliant with Ofgem's Retail Market Review (RMR). From 18th January 2014, E.ON customers can receive £20/year for having a dual fuel account, up to £10/year for paperless billing (£5 per fuel) and up to £70/year for paying by Fixed Monthly Direct Debit (£35 per fuel). Moreover, all electricity customers will receive the full £12 Government rebate that relates to the change in funding of the Warm Home Discount.
