E.ON and RWE complete 3 TWh/year renewable PPA in the UK

E.ON and RWE Renewables have signed a 2.5-year power purchase agreement (PPA), under the terms of which E.ON will buy around 3 TWh/year of power from wind parks operated by RWE in Great Britain (United Kingdom). This PPA will support E.ON's committment to provide all of its residential customers across Britain (3.3 million homes) power on all tariffs, with 100% renewable, at no extra cost.

The PPA covers more than 20 onshore and offshore with a total capacity of 892 MW and includes a part of the London Array, one of the largest offshore wind parks worldwide. These wind parks were originally developed by E.ON, which transferred them to RWE in early October 2019, under the RWE-Innogy asset swap (E.ON took over RWE's stake in Innogy in return of E.ON’s renewable energy activities). RWE Renewables now owns more than 9 GW of installed capacity and has another 2.6 GW under construction.
