Envision Energy secures contract for a 400 MW/1.6 GWh BESS in Germany

Envision Energy has partnered with Elements Green to deliver the 400 MW/1.6 GWh Stadorf BESS in Lower Saxony, Germany (Envision Energy press release, 29/06/2026). Envision will deliver a four-hour duration BESS with its latest Gen‑8 platform designed to support large-scale grid applications, including renewable integration and system flexibility. According to Envision, the installation forms part of Elements Green’s broader storage pipeline in Germany and will address grid balancing and dispatch needs in a market with rising renewable penetration.

Elements Green plans to develop 3.2 GW of BESS capacity in Germany by 2027, with several projects expected to reach ready-to-build status in 2026 and enter operation in 2027. The developer also plans to invest around EUR2bn in Germany by 2028 (KEI, 17/11/2025).
