Entergy will supply 200 MW of power to Sasol's Westlake project (US)

Entergy Gulf States Louisiana (part of the Entergy group) has signed a six-year commercial and contractual agreement with Sasol North America, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sasol, to supply up to 200 MW of electricity to Sasol’s proposed ethane cracker and derivatives project in Westlake, Louisiana (United States), beginning in mid-2015. Sasol is developing an ethane cracker project (final investment decision expected in 2014) scheduled for 2017. Entergy Gulf States Louisiana plans to upgrade its electric transmission system to meet the increased demand the ethylene production facility is anticipated to generate.

Entergy, which celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2013, is an integrated energy company engaged primarily in electric power production and retail distribution operations. Entergy owns and operates power plants with 30,000 megawatts of electric generating capacity, including more than approximately 10,000 MW of nuclear power, making it one of the nation’s leading nuclear generators.
