Entergy acquires three CCGT power plants in the USA

Entergy Mississippi has signed an asset purchase agreement to acquire the Hinds Energy Facility, a 450 MW natural gas-fired CCGT plant located in Jackson, Mississipi (USA), from KGen Hinds, a subsidiary of KGen Power Corporation. The purchase price is approximately $206m. Another Entergy Corporation’s subsidiary, Entergy Arkansas, also signed an asset purchase agreement to acquire the Hot Spring Energy Facility, a 620 MW natural gas-fired CCGT plant located in Hot Spring County, Arkansas, from KGen Hot Spring, a subsidiary of KGen Power Corporation. The purchase price is approximately $253m. Entergy Mississippi and Entergy Arkansas also expect to invest in various plant upgrades at the facilities after closing.

Entergy also completed the acquisition of Acadia Energy Center Power Block-2 (in Louisiana) from Acadia Power Partners. The transaction includes the 580 MW CCGT units and 50% of the facility common assets. The first block (580 MW) is owned by Cleco.
