Eni's hydrocarbon output declined by 3% in 2021 (Italy)

The Italian oil and gas company Eni has released its 2021 results, posting a net income of €4.7bn. The company's hydrocarbon output declined by 3% to 1,682 kboe/d in 2021, including 813 kbl/d of liquids (-4%) and 4,613 mcf/d of natural gas (130 mcm/d, -2%). Eni sold 70.5 bcm of natural gas in 2021 (+8%, including 10.9 bcm of LNG (+15%)), of which 36.9 bcm were sold in Italy (-1%). The refinery's throughput reached 27.4 Mt in 2021 (+15%), including 16.5 Mt in Italy (+11%). The company sold 7.2 Mt of petroleum products on retails markets in Europe (+9%), including 5.1 Mt in Italy (+12%) and 8.2 Mt on wholesale markets (+1%), with 6 Mt in Italy (+5%). Finally, Eni marketed 28.5 TWh of electricity in 2021 (+13%), while its thermoelectric output reached 22 TWh (+7%).
