Eni signs 0.8 Mt/year LNG deal with Thailand’s Gulf Development company

Eni has signed a long-term LNG sales agreement with Thailand’s Gulf Development Company, one of Thailand's largest private power producers. Under this deal, Eni will supply 0.8 Mt/year of LNG for 10 years to Gulf, with LNG to be delivered to regasification terminals in Thailand starting from 2027 (Eni press release, 05/12/2025). This contract follows a 2-year agreement signed by the two companies in 2024, under which approximately 0.5 Mt/year of LNG will be supplied starting in 2025.

  • This new deal follows Eni’s recent LNG sales agreement with Türkiye’s BOTAŞ, under which 0.4 Mt/year will be delivered over 10 years starting in 2028 (KEI, 04/12/2025).

According to Eni, “the agreement is the company’s first long-term LNG supply to Thailand, aimed at strengthening its presence in Asia.” Looking ahead, Eni plans to expand its LNG portfolio to around 20 Mt/year by 2030, leveraging projects in Congo, Mozambique, the US, Indonesia, and other countries.
