Eni discovers 650 mbl of oil at the Agogo offshore field in Angola

Eni has made a significant discovery in the first appraisal well of the Agogo discovery in Block 15/06, offshore Angola. The well results confirmed the extension of the Agogo reservoir to the north of the discovery well and below the salt diapirs. The Agogo field would hold 650 mbl of oil in place and could producce more than 15,000 bbl/d of crude oil. Production could start before the end of 2019 with a subsea tie back to the N’Goma FPSO. Eni will also continue its appraisal campaign to estimate the discovery’s full potential.

Eni has been active in Angola since 1980 and its equity production currently stands at around 150,000 boe/d. The group is the operator of the Block 15/06 JV with a 36.8% stake, in partnership with Sonangol P&P (36.8%) and SSI Fifteen (26.3%). It operates two development projects in the Block 15/06, West Hub and East Hub, which currently produce around 155,000 bbl/d of oil. Eni is also operator of Cabinda Norte Block, located onshore Angola.
