Engie’s revenue rose by more than 60% in 2022

The French gas group Engie has released its 2022 results, posting a €93.9bn revenue (+62% compared to 2021) and a €0.2bn net income (-94%). The company’s recurring income rose by 78% to €5.2bn due to higher natural gas and power prices following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Engie distributed 256.9 TWh of natural gas in France (-16%) and 157.6 TWh outside of France (-16%). In addition, the group transported 707.5 TWh of natural gas in France (+12%) and 296 TWh outside of France (+11%). Engie also distributed 167.4 TWh of gas and power (-16%), with about half of the total volume supplied in France.

The group produced 242.1 TWh in 2022, with 43% from natural gas, 22% from hydro, 17% from nuclear and 10% from onshore wind. About 21% of the company’s output was generated in Belgium, followed by Brazil (17%) and France (13%).

The company owns 64.2 GW of installed capacity, including 38% of natural gas, 25% of hydro, 14% of onshore wind and 8% of nuclear. Most of Engie’s power plants are located in Brazil (15%), France (15%) and Belgium (14%).
