Engie installed 1.3 GW of renewable power capacity in first half of 2019

Engie has presented results for its new Renewables Global Business Line and announced that it had installed 1.3 GW of renewable power capacity in the first half of 2019. Engie also has 7.2 GW under construction or secured at the end of June 2019, reducing the gap with the target of 9 GW of renewable capacity by 2021 to 0.5 GW. Over the 2019-2021 period, Engie aims to invest €2.5bn of capital expenditures (net of Develop Build Share Operate projects), of which 40% will be invested in fully consolidated assets (Develop Build Own Operate) and around 60% in deconsolidated assets (Develop Build Share Operate and Develop Share Build Operate models). Engie is moving ahead with new renewable technologies such as offshore wind and green gas. The group aims to have 50% of new renewable projects dedicated to specific customers by 2021, while becoming a leading corporate PPA supplier.
