Eneva commissions an 837 MW solar project in Brazil

Eneva has commissioned the Futura I Solar Complex located in the municipality of Juazeiro, in the state of Bahia (Brazil). The solar project an installed capacity of 837 MW. In all, the Futura I solar complex consists of 22 photovoltaic plants, whose test operation was gradually started from April 2023. The company entered into a partnership with White Martins to deliver 101 MW of energy from 2023 to 2035 to White Martins facilities, which also became a partner in the project.

Eneva has invested BRL$3.2bn (US$646m) in the construction of Futura I. The complex still has the possibility of expansion with the construction of the Futura II and Futura III wind projects, which together could add 2.3 GW of installed capacity to the complex.
