EnergoAtom generated 81.2 TWh in 2016 (Ukraine)

The Ukrainian state-held company Energoatom published its 2016 Annual Report and reached a total installed capacity of 14,148 MW from 15 power units, most of which from its four nuclear power plants: Zaporizhzhya (6,000 MW, 6 VVER-1000 units), South-Ukraine (3,000 MW, 3 VVER-1000 units), Rivne (2,835 MW, 2 VVER-100 units and 2 VVER-440 units) and Khmelnytska (2,000 MW, 2 VVER-1000 units). The company also owns two hydropower facilities: the Tashlyk Hydro Pump Storage Power Plant (HPSPP, 302 MW) and the 11.5 MW Olexandrivska hydropower plant.

In 2016, the company generated 81.2 TWh of power, which accounts for about 52% of the total Ukrainian electricity production (87.8 TWh in 2015 and 88.6 TWh in 2014). The company's key achievements for 2016 are the extension of the Zaporizhzhya-1 and Zaporizhzhya-2 units operations for 10 years beyond the initial project deadline (respectively until 23 December 2025 and 19 February 2025) by the Board of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate.
