Enel reorganises Latin American power subsidiaries

As announced in April 2015, Enel has approved the complete reorganisation of its operations in Chile and in other Latin American countries. The group will separate the electricity generation and distribution operations carried out in Chile from those conducted in other Latin American countries.

Enel will partially spin off Endesa Chile and Chilectra by allocating all of their assets and liabilities they hold in other Latin American countries to two newly-created companies, named, respectively, Endesa Americas and Chilectra Americas. Meanwhile, assets held by Enersis will be separated along this same geographical line, with assets in Chile transferred to a newly-established company named Enersis Chile and assets in other Latin American countries (including the stakes in the newly-established companies Endesa Americas and Chilectra Americas) transferred to a new company, Enersis Americas, which will then incorporate Endesa Americas and Chilectra Americas. The corporate reorganisation process is expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2016.
