The Italian energy group Enel has released its preliminary results for 2022: the group posted a 64% increase in revenues to €140.5bn, a 2.6% improvement in ordinary EBITDA to €19.7bn, and its net financial debt stood at €60.1bn at the end of 2022 (+16% compared to the end of 2021 but a significant improvement compared to the end of September 2022).
In 2022, Enel’s generation and sales of electricity increased slightly, while distribution decreased slightly. The group generated a total of 228 TWh of electricity in 2022 (+2.3%), including 48.5 TWh in Italy (+1%) and 179 TWh abroad (+2.7%). It distributed 508 TWh (-0.5%), including 220 TWh in Italy (-2.8%) and 287 TWh abroad (+1.3%) and sold 321 TWh (+3.8%), including 97 TWh in Italy (+4.9%) and 224 TWh abroad (+3.3%).
