Enel Green Power (Italy) plans €6.1bn investment by 2018

Enel Green Power has presented its 2014-2018 Business Plan, which targets €6.1bn in capital expenditures, including €5.4bn for growth. By 2018, Enel's subsidiary aims to add 4.6 GW (of which 1 GW should be installed before the end of 2014) in order to reach an installed capacity of 13.4 GW (including decommissioning) and an average power generation of 45 TWh in 2018. Enel Green Power plans to raise its installed capacity in Europe by 1 GW, from 6 GW in 2013, to reach 6.9 GW installed in 2018 (including 0.1 GW of decommissioning); the group will invest more than €1bn in Europe to reach this goal. In North America, the group aims to add 700 MW to raise its capacity from 1.7 GW in 2013 to 2.4 GW in 2018, with €610m of investments. Enel Green Power will also focus on emerging markets (Uruguay, Ecuador, Kenya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Russia, in addition to the 16 countries in which Enel Green Power currently operates and the new countries already announced, namely Colombia, Peru, Turkey, South Africa and Morocco); the group will invest more than €4.4bn in emerging markets by 2018, including €2.8bn in Latin America. Enel Green Power plans to add 2.9 GW to its existing 1.2 GW capacity, to reach 4.1 GW installed in emerging markets in 2018.
