Enel begins the construction of a 200 MW wind park in Mexico

Enel Green Power Mexico (EGPM), the renewable energy subsidiary of the Enel Group in Mexico, has announced the construction start of the 200 MW Amistad wind park in the Coahuila state (Mexico).



The Amistad wind park is expected to generate over 750 GWh/year and its construction will be supported by a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA), which will require an investment estimated to US$300m.



EGPM is Mexico's largest renewables operator in terms of installed capacity. The company operates 728 MW of installed capacity of which 675 MW of wind power and 53 MW of hydropower. Three solar projects and one wind project with a combined capacity of around 1 GW are expected in the years to come:

- Villanueva-1 and Villanueva-3 (Coahuila State) with a combined expected capacity of 754 MW

- Don Jose SPP (Guanajuato State) with an expected capacity of 238 MW

- Salitrillos wind power (Tamaulipas State) with a future capacity of 93 MW
