Italy's largest power group Enel has announced preliminary results for 2015. Revenues declined by 0.1% to €75.7bn, due to a decrease in sales of electricity, partly offset by an increase in revenues from the sale of fuels and gas in the same period. The greater revenues generated in Italy and Latin America partly offset the adverse impact of changes in the exchange rates of other currencies against the euro, amounting to about €0.9bn.
In 2015, the group generated 284 TWh of electricity (283 TWh in 2014), distributed 417 TWh (411 TWh in 2014) and sold 260 TWh (261 TWh in 2014). Outside Italy, the group generated 215 TWh (+2%), distributed 191 TWh (+1.4%) and sold 172 TWh (-0.7%).
Where Enel Green Power is concerned, EGP's net capacity at the end of 2015 stood at 10.5 GW, including 6.6 GW (63%) of wind power, 2.6 GW (25%) of hydroelectric, 0.8 GW (8%) of geothermal and 0.5 GW (4%) of solar and biomass. Net installed capacity of the Enel Green Power Group increased by 0.9 GW (+9.4%) compared with the end of 2014, mainly in the wind segment. Enel Green Power generated 33.6 TWh in 2015 (+5.7%, due to the expansion of installed wind capacity), including 16.1 TWh (48%) from wind power, 10.4 TWh (31%) from hydroelectricity, 6.2 TWh (18%) from geothermal and 0.9 TWh (3%) from solar and biomass.
