EnBW will acquire Eni’s stake in gas transmission company (Germany)

EnBW and Eni have reached an agreement on their 50-50 gas transmission pipeline joint venture created in 2002. EnBW will acquire the 50% stake owned by Eni in EnBW Eni Verwaltungsgesellschaft (EEV), and thus indirectly 50% of Gasversorgung Süddeutschland (GVS) and 50% of Terranets bw.

GVS supplies distributors and industrial customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In 2013 the company sold 56 TWh of gas.

Terranets bw is an independent transmission system operator with nearly 2,000 km of network connecting more than 2/3 of all cities and communities in Baden-Württemberg and parts of Switzerland, Vorarlberg and the Principality of Liechtenstein. Additionally the northern Black Forest gas pipeline is under construction since the beginning of the year.

The acquisition is subject to approval by the relevant antitrust authorities. Both parties agreed contractually not to disclose the purchase price.
