Enagas and Odebrecht will bid for new gas pipeline project in Peru

Spanish gas transmission system operator, Enagas, and Brazilian construction company Odebrecht have formed a consortium and submitted their technical and financial proposal for the Gasoducto Sur Peruano (GSP) project in Peru. Enagas has already invested US$481m to acquire a 20% stake in Transportadora de Gas del Perú (TGP), which operates a gas pipeline from the Camisea gas field to Lima.

Another consortium will take part to the tender process, and will group together Techint (Argentina), Sempra (US) and GDF SUEZ (France). A third consortium could be formed before the tender on 30 June 2014 (CNPC, Gazprom, Saipem).

The gas pipeline project would stretch over 1,080 km from Camisea (Cusco) to a new petrochemical complex to be built in Ilo (Moquegua), near the Chilean border.
