Enagas and Fluxys sell stakes in Swedish gas grid operator Swedegas

Belgian gas transmission grid operator Fluxys and its Spanish counterpart Enagás have agreed to jointly sell their total stake in Swedish gas grid operator Swedegas to FS Gas Transport, a subsidiary of First State Investments managed European Diversified Infrastructure Fund II. The transaction is expected to amount SKK2.04bn (€192m) and both companies have agreed to this proposal. The closing of the transaction is now subject to approval from the Swedish Competition Authority.

Both Enagás and Fluxys acquired their 50% respective stakes in Swedegas in 2015 from EQT Infrastructure. Swedegas has been Sweden's TSO since 2012 and operates the 600-km gas transmission network and a 390 km-long pipeline through which all natural gas consumed in Sweden is imported from Denmark. Besides, it is currently developing the LNG project in the port of Gothenburg, which will allow vessels to refuel using LNG and liquefied biogas (LBG).
