Eletrobras sold three power distribution subsidiaries (Brazil)

Brazilian state-held energy company Elétricas Brasileiras (Eletrobras) has sold three of its power distribution subsidiaries, namely Boa Vista Energia, Eletroacre and Ceron.



Public help Brazilian company Energisa acquired 87.61% of Eletroacre and 90% of Ceron, while Oliveira Energia bought 90% of Boa Vista Energia.



The three power distribution companies where auctioned in February 2018 as part of Brazil government's plan to privatize the state utility and improve the company's efficiency and competitiveness, along with the sale of Amazonas Distribuidora de Energia, Ceal and Cepisa. Earlier in August 2018, Eletrobras postponed the auction of its power distribution subsidiary Amazonas Distribuidora de Energia to end-September 2018. In July 2018, Eletrobras sold another power distribution subsidiary (Companhia de Energia do Piauí or Cepisa) to Equatorial Energia.
