El Paso Pipeline (EPB) will acquire from Kinder Morgan (KMI) its 50% interest in Ruby Pipeline, 50% interest in Gulf LNG and 47.5% interest in Young Gas Storage in the United States. The Ruby Pipeline is a 680-mile (2,700 km) gas pipeline system that extends from Wyoming to Oregon and provides natural gas supplies from the major Rocky Mountain basins to consumers in California, Nevada and the Pacific Northwest. The Gulf LNG terminal, located in Pascagoula, Miss., has 320 bcm of storage capacity and 1.5 Bcf/d (15.45 bcm/year) of peak regasification capacity, and is developing the proposed Gulf LNG Liquefaction Project, which will add liquefaction and export capabilities at the existing terminal; the 10 Mt/year (13.5 bcm/year) liquefaction plant is expected to be commissioned in 2018-2019. Young Gas Storage is located in Morgan County, Colorado, and has a working natural gas storage capacity of approximately 6 Bcf (170 mcm). The transaction value is approximately US$2bn. The purchase is expected to close in May 2014.
