EIG and the Belgian gas transmission system operator (TSO) Fluxys jointly will jointly acquire an 80% equity stake in GNL Quintero, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification terminal in Chile, from Enagas Chile (45%) and affiliates of OMERS Infrastructure (35%). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The terminal has a regasification capacity of 15 mcm/d (5.5 bcm/d), an LNG storage capacity of 334,000 cm and 2,500 cm/d of truck loading capacity. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2022, subject to customary closing conditions, including any required merger control and related regulatory approvals.
EIG is already active in Chile through the Cerro Dominador solar complex (100 MW of solar PV and 110 MW of CSP) and through AME, a Chilean project developer and independent power producer, that co-owns Generadora Metropolitana (fifth largest electricity generation company in Chile) and the hydrogen company HIF Global.
