Edify Energy secures financing on two solar + BESS projects in Australia

Edify Energy has reached financial close on the Ganymirra and Majors Creek hybrid solar and battery projects in North Queensland, Australia. The two projects, located near Townsville, are planned to combine 360 MW of solar capacity with 300 MW/1.2 GWh of BESS. (Edify Energy press release, 13/08/2026).

The AUD3.2bn (USD2.3bn) projects are expected to enter operation in 2028 and are anticipated to supply electricity to more than 100,000 homes. They are to be delivered as integrated hybrid assets using reverse DC-coupled technology and a single set of grid-forming inverters

DT Infrastructure has been selected as EPC contractor, while CATL was chosen to supply the battery systems and Powerlink to oversee network and connection works. According to Edify, the configuration intends to improve network stability and to increase the value and availability of renewable electricity.

The projects are Edify's third and fourth projects to reach financial close under the Australian Government's Capacity Investment Scheme, which supports renewable and dispatchable generation projects through long-term revenue underwriting.
