EDF agrees to sell US and Canadian wind and solar affiliates (5.6 GW) to KKR

EDF has announced the signing of an agreement, under which KKR irrevocably undertakes to acquire the operations and assets of EDF power solutions in the United States and Canada (EDF power solutions, 26/06/2026). EDF power solutions has the option to sell these assets. In the United States and Canada, the company operates a portfolio of renewable assets for a total net capacity of 5.6 GW at end-March 2026.

The transaction contemplated will be subject to an information and consultation procedure with employee representative bodies and to the approval from the governance bodies. 

At the end of December 2025, EDF power solutions had a installed capacity of 15.6 GW, with 4.7 GW in the US, including 2.9 GW of onshore wind and 1.8 GW of solar, and 0.6 GW in Canada, mainly onshore wind.
