DTEK, Ukraine's largest energy company, has brought online the first 19 wind turbines of the Botievskaya wind farm, which is part of its DTEK Priazovsky wind farm cluster. It is planned that another 11 Vestas V112 3 MW turbines will be put into operation during the next few weeks, which will increase the capacity of the farm to 90 MW.
According to the company, another 110 MW will be installed by the end of 2013. After reaching its full production capacity of 200 MW, the Botievskaya wind farm will be able to produce about 686 GWh of electricity per year. The total volume of investments in the project is estimated at US$350m. The Botievskaya wind farm is part of DTEK's Priazovsky wind farm, a large project in the Zaporizhia region with a total capacity of 550 MW.
In April, DTEK handed Vestas a 200 MW supply deal for the Priazovsky projects.
