Doosan Energy has signed a KRW130bn (US$88m) contract with Samsung C&T for the 2.4 GW Qatar Facility E-gas CCGT project near Doha, Qatar (Doosan Energy press release, 15/12/2025). According to the contract, Doosan will supply 430 MW steam turbines, two generators, and auxiliary equipment by 2029. Once operational, the project is expected to deliver approximately 16% of Qatar’s total electricity supply.
The deal represents Doosan Energy’s second contract in Qatar, after winning a KRW290bn (US$200m) order for the "Picking Unit" project in March 2025. The company will also supply KRW340bn (US$230m) in equipment for two CCGT projects, the Ghazlan 2 Expansion and the Hajar Expansion, in Saudi Arabia.
