Crude oil production in Ghana fell by 17.7% in 2021

Ghanaian crude oil production fell by 17.7% in 2021 to 55 mbl (151 kb/d), according to the country's Public Interest and Accountability Committee. Crude oil in Ghana is currently produced from three fields, namely Jubilee, TEN, and the Sankofa Gye-Nyame (SGN). The relatively lower production volume in 2021 was due to reduced production on all the three producing fields. The Jubilee field's production was reduced by 10% to 27.3 mbl but still contributed half of the total output, while the TEN field’s production fell by 32.7% to 12 mbl in 2021 (22% of total production) and the SGN field's production decreased by 15.8% to 15.7 mbl (28% of total production). Gas production of associated gas and non-associated increased by 7.7% in 2021 to 256,262 mcf (7.3 bcm).
