Crossroads Agriculture plans two solar plants totalling 1 GW in Colorado (US)

Crossroads Agriculture, a subsidiary of the US’ Soloviev Group, has unveiled plans to build two solar projects totalling more than 1 GW in capacity in the US state of Colorado. The solar parks will be built on 7,500 hectares of Crossroads owned farmland near the towns of Haswell and Cheyenne Wells. Crossroads Agriculture has already entered into an agreement with a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources to develop the solar projects. The two parks are expected to be able to power at least 250,000 US households.

Crossroads Agriculture already has more than 30 operating wind turbines in the State of New Mexico and plans another 40 to be built by the end of 2024 on Crossroads ground in Colorado.

Colorado aims to have 80% of the state’s energy come from renewable sources by 2030.
