SOCAR Aurora Fujairah Terminal (SAFT) has started the construction of the second phase of a 645,000 m3 multiberth products terminal in the Port of Fujairah (United Arab Emirates).

The project will add ten tanks with a total capacity of 235,000 m3 to the tanks already in operation. Completion of the second phase is expected by the end of the year. The first phase was commissioned in March 2012, with a capacity of 115,000 m3. Funding is already in place for the Phase 3, to be completed in 2014. Phase 3 will comprise seven 39,250 m3 tanks and one 20,350 m3 tank, reaching a total capacity of 295,100 m3.

When fully operational, the terminal will have a capacity of 645,000 m3 over 22 tanks and will be capable of storing fuel oils, gasolines, naphthas, and middle distillates.

SAFT is a joint venture between Azerbaijan's national oil company SOCAR, commodity trading house Aurora Progress (Switzerland), and the government of Fujairah, UAE.
