CIP acquires majority shares of 5 GW onshore wind and H2 project in Canada

ABO Energy has announced the transfer of 90% share of its Toqlukuti’k wind and hydrogen project in the Canadian Province of Newfoundland and Labrador to Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), which aims to develop 5 GW of wind capacity to produce competitive green hydrogen and ammonia. ABO will keep the remaining 10% of the shares and will stay actively engaged in the project as minority shareholder and co-developer of the project.

In August 2023, the project was awarded the exclusive right to pursue development on nominated Crown land by the Canadian Ministry of Industry, Energy and Technology. Toqlukuti’k represents another project in the partnership between CIP and ABO Energy, which also includes the 495 MW Buffalo Plains wind project that will provide clean energy to approximately 240,000 households in Alberta, Canada, once fully operational.
